Word on the high street is that if you haven’t got at least one sequinned top, bottom, shoe or accessory on hand this Christmas, you may be refused entry to any party or gathering you may be intent on attending. I myself have treated myself to not only a sequined top for an impending get-together this weekend but actual emerald green sequinned culottes (both from Penneys, hun!) – basically you, me and any discerning fashion grrrrl will be head to toe in bling from this day forth, so help you goddess,
Legend has it that the real obsession began with those Saint Laurent slouched silver boots in February 17, and certainly the slouched boot is an enduring boot trend for the coming months. Put some sequins on it and you have your shoe-niform perfected for the next year. Not feeling it? There are so many other motivations for you to fly your fabulous flag; let me count the ways…

So that’s ten reasons why, and that is not even ten reasons to wear sparkle but nine collections from which to choose inspiration from! From Gucci‘s eccentric Rocket Man look, inspired by Elton John (v on trend, haven’t you seen the John Lewis Christmas ad?), Victoria Beckham‘s twist on Dorothy’s ruby slippers, structured jackets and mini jackets and girly prom dresses, you’ll find some sparkle that’ll work for you.
This weekend I’ll be wearing my new multi-coloured sequin top with black high-waisted skinnies and simple black boots, to let the sparkle do the talking.
