The first rule of wearing leggings every day is to make sure you own multiple over-sized tops. And when I say over-sized I mean they must hide your crotch. You know why.
As I write this, I’m on the bus, driving home for Christmas and I’ve just realised I’ve left my leggings at home, despite my enormous bag packed full of I don’t know what. But so convinced am I of their versatility, I’m going to head to Penneys and pick up a pair. (I also forgot to pack underwear. And socks.)
But how do you wear leggings every day and night of the Christmas season and not look like Vicki Pollard? Imagination. Imagine that your leggings were not, until this year, meant for slobbing around. Oh, and exercising. The best way to picture how the leggings will look, look at a picture.
The experts at work:
- Olivia Palermo
Leggings, a boho top, yellow slippers and you can still look like a Park Avenue Princess.
- Kate Moss
Just add heels.
- Gigi Hadid
Has there ever been a more stylish hungover person?
- Street Style
A long t-shirt and a blazer up the ante
Better still, make sure your leggings have sequins.
The key items to add to your leggings look are high heeled black boots, a chunky jumper and a don’t care attitude. When I get mine, though, I’ll be wearing them with a dressing gown and slippers.
Happy Christmas!
I love the way Gigi wore it! I think I could pull that off for business casual. I will definitely do a remake!
That’s my favorite look too, nails it! x CM
